Poetry Nights Majlis – Hall 8
Visitors to the exhibition are in for a special poetry evening dedicated to honoring the late Iraqi poet Lami’a Abbas Amara, one of the most prominent poetic voices in Iraq and the Arab world. The evening will feature unique poetry readings of her timeless works, showcasing poems that reflect the suffering of Iraqi women, love, and patriotism, while celebrating her poetic vision, marked by sincerity and emotion.
The evening will include contributions from poets and critics who will discuss Lami’a Abbas Amara’s influence on the Iraqi and Arab literary movements. Some will share their personal memories of her, offering the event a deeply human and emotional dimension.
The evening will also include moments of nostalgia, as some poets will recite verses from her famous poems that celebrate resilience, dignity, and heroism. The event will conclude with reflective moments on Lami’a’s lasting impact on younger generations, and how her poetic legacy remains alive in the memories of writers and audiences alike.

Poet
An Iraqi poet originally from Basra, she currently resides in Canada. She studied at Concordia University in Canada, specializing in sciences and arts. She is considered one of the distinctive poetic voices that reflect the concerns and issues of her homeland and the diaspora, with her poems characterized by sincere emotion and philosophical depth.
Al Samuraei has participated in numerous literary and cultural events, reading her poems at several poetry evenings, and has received many awards, including the "Babylon Shield for Creativity." She has also written poems documenting events such as the October protests in Iraq, reflecting her deep connection to her country's issues. In 2019, she organized a poetry evening titled "Fragments from the Land of Palm Trees" in Paris, which received great admiration.

A renowned Egyptian oud player, known for his high-level technical skills in performing a variety of musical pieces on the oud. His playing demonstrates mastery of multiple musical styles, reflecting his deep understanding of both classical and modern Arabic music. He is also well-known for offering educational lessons on playing the oud, where he explains how to perform different pieces and provides technical tips for both beginners and professionals alike.
Producer and Director
A renowned Kuwaiti director and producer, known for his significant contributions to television projects. He is recognized for his major role in production and direction, having managed and overseen the production of many successful dramatic works. In his projects, he demonstrates a commitment to presenting meaningful stories.
